Velvet, the Italian band, is calling for entries to deliver different versions of what will be their forthcoming new single titled "Il Serpente". The best two tracks will make it into the digital EP, out on the 28th May.

To do so, Velvet set their view onto Thounds as a platform where users can easily leave their music contribution and collaborate as quick as on a sketchbook.  

Who will win? Two tracks will be picked and added to the new single as b-sides: the band will pick the first one and the community at Thounds will be responsible for the second one.  The contest is opening on Thursday 15th April at 11:00 GMT (London time) on: http://thounds.com/velvet

Anyone can join, and wouldn't need to be a musician to give life to an alternate version that can be fun as a barrel of monkeys.

Velvet is a very popular band in Italy, they played Festival di San Remo (a major live contest, imagine an Italian EuroVision) three times and are releasing a new single on 28th May which will preceed the Greatest Hits album due in September.
