Splitgigs was born, the first 2010 investment!
H-Farm presents Splitgigs.com, a social network which helps emerging bands find performance venues, via an idea that is both new and simple: SplitGigs.
A SplitGig is an exchange of performances in which, for example, one band invites another band to participate in its concert with several pieces, and vice versa, with the advantage of a wider audience and an exchange of contacts.
“Everything we’ve been doing is based on the concept of sharing,” said Sem Ronzoni, co-founder of Splitgigs. “We are convinced that music events don’t have to be exclusively organized by managers, record labels or agencies: we want musicians to decide for themselves where, how and with whom they want to play, without any obstacles standing between them and their music on the stage.”
“Music really gets young people involved and through the Internet even more can be done with it,” says Riccardo Donadon, the founder of H-Farm. “Splitgigs is an interesting idea and by using the dynamics of the Social Network it could reach and involve a vast number of people.” SplitGigs will participate in MIDEM, one of the most important events in the world of music, held in Cannes from 23 to 27 January.
